UTA TRUCK TALK—Insights, News, and Trends from the Used Truck World The Used Truck Association (UTA) is thrilled to announce the launch of its new monthly podcast, explicitly designed for those members who don't always find time to read the UTA's monthly newsletter but do, however, have time to listen to a podcast on their way to work, at the gym, running, walking or wherever you find a few minutes. As our audience continues to grow and engage with the evolving landscape of used trucks, we recognized the need for an innovative platform to share insights, expertise, and the passion many have for our industry. Why a Podcast?
Podcasts are an increasingly popular medium that allows listeners to absorb information on the go. The used truck industry is complex and dynamic, and we want to ensure our listeners have access to the latest trends, best practices, and expert insights.
Each episode will feature discussions with industry leaders, experienced truck dealers, finance professionals, and mechanics who understand the ins and outs of the used truck market. Listeners can expect to learn valuable information from our industry leaders, vendors, and innovators, alongside exploring the latest industry news and technology features.
What to Expect
In the upcoming episodes, we will cover various topics that resonate with our UTA audience. The discussions will provide actionable information. We'll also delve into the nuances of compliance regulations, emerging market trends, and the used truck industry's sustainability challenges. Our current team working on the podcast is Steve Bootsma, Whole Unit Department Manager of Vander Haags; Nicole Zueske, Marketing Manager, HID On-Highway & Used Trucks for International; and I, Mike Gardecki, Buyer, Transwest.
We're dedicated to showcasing diverse voices within the industry. Our guests will include seasoned veterans who can provide a historical perspective and young innovators pushing the envelope in truck sales and service. This multi-generational mix ensures that we provide a 360-degree view of our industry and can spark conversations that inspire change.

As the Used Truck Association grows, we envision our podcast evolving twice monthly to better serve our audience. With more episodes, we aim to delve deeper into specialized topics, cater to specific needs within the community, and allow for a more relaxed pace of discussion that offers in-depth information.
We want to invite our audience to participate in facilitating this expansion. Email your questions, suggest topics you’re interested in, or share your experiences. Our podcast will be a two-way street; we want to create a community where everyone feels represented.
We’re excited to embark on this journey with you. The first episode is set to air towards the end of May. The podcast link will be on the UTA's website. We will email the UTA members once we know where to find that link.
