              | For Vik Gupta, trucks have been a lifelong constant. As a child, he would roam around the Arrow Truck Sales yard as his father assisted customers and closed deals. He’d go from truck to truck and honk the horns, press the brakes, and jump on the mattresses—not realizing that almost 20 years later he’d be buying and selling that same equipment. Vik’s father has always been his mentor. He has been a part of this industry for over 20 years and introduced Vik to many other industry veterans, who helped teach him the ropes. Having seen his father work every day for the past 20 years has motivated Vik to build certain habits that will stay with me for life. “The success of his career is what fuels mine to keep going,” Vik said. | Armored vehicles are heavily protected transportation equipment designed to shield soldiers, goods, and weaponry from enemy fire. They range from large, heavily armored tanks and heavy trucks to lighter, more agile military vehicles used for various purposes, including transport and reconnaissance. According to Maris-Tech, the armored vehicles market is experiencing robust growth. Its value is projected to reach $35 billion by 2032, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 5% from 2023. The United States has dominated the armored vehicles market due to its high military budget and ongoing modernization programs. Meanwhile, according to the experts, Asia is expected to register the highest military vehicle growth, driven by increasing military budgets in countries like India, South Korea, and China. | The More Things Change… Counter to historical seasonality, preliminary Class 8 same dealer used truck retail sales volumes slowed in June (-5.3%). A lack of traction in freight and freight rate improvement, coupled with still-high interest rates, remain the largest hurdles to better used truck sales performance. Seasonality called for an increase of more than 5% m/m. In typical fashion, auction surged in the final month of the quarter, jumping 36% m/m in June. Wholesale activity pulled back, shedding 20% m/m. Looking ahead, July sales are typically lackluster, with buyers likely to re-engage in a meaningful way in August See full report  | |

Summary Auction volume increased notably in June 2024, but pricing decreased only moderately. Retail volume was depressed, but pricing changed minimally. CLASS 8 AUCTION UPDATEA substantial volume of Class 8 sleeper tractors was sold in June, which is not unusual for the month. Pricing decreased moderately compared to May, but the second quarter saw very little depreciation on average.  Looking at late-model sleeper tractors, average pricing for our benchmark truck in June was: • Model year 2021: $43,669; $3,128 (6.7%) lower than May• Model year 2020: $37,962; $2,716 (7.7%) higher than May
 • Model year 2019: $26,578; $2,120 (6.4%) lower than May
 • Model year 2018: $16,755; $12,328 (42.4%) lower than May

              | Used Truck Inventory Stabilizes While Semitrailer Inventory Rises To Pre-COVID Levels Sandhills Global’s newest market reports indicate inventory levels of used heavy-duty trucks in Sandhills’ U.S. marketplaces were fairly steady in June. The market showed a slight month-over-month decrease and a marginal year-over-year increase and is now trending sideways. Used semitrailer inventory levels, meanwhile, gained momentum YOY in June and are trending up. The key metric in all of Sandhills’ market reports is the Sandhills Equipment Value Index (EVI). Buyers and sellers can use the information in the Sandhills EVI to monitor equipment, truck, and trailer markets and maximize returns on acquisition, liquidation, and related business decisions.
